Project Status
2006
The Section 3 Environmental Assessment (EA) has been finalized and recieved Federal Highway (FHWA) approval. That allows the I-70 improvements to proceed to the next phases of development - design and construction. Currently no finding is available for major I-70 improvements, therefore the timeframe for design and construction is unknown.
The final version of the EA is available on this Web site (click on DOCUMENTS above).
An EA is a document that details the known and anticipated impacts of I-70 improvements on the natural, social, economic and man-made environments. The EA recommends a preferred alternative for the location and basic configuration of I-70 widening and interchange improvements between Boonville and Rocheport.
Prior to being finalized, a Draft EA document was distributed, and an official public hearing was held in Boonville on December 7, 2004. The official comment period for the document ended on December 15, 2004.
