Drop-In Center, November 24, 2003
Listed below are the additional I-70 improvement alternatives that
were developed after the September public meetings, and were
on display at the November drop in center in Warrenton. Other
than minor adjustments to minimize impacts to some properties,
all other alternatives remain unchanged since the September public
meetings. Please call 1-800-590-0066 if you have questions.
Montgomery County
Between Route 19 and High Hill - An additional alternative was
developed to widen I-70 to the north of the existing location.
Additional properties along the north side of I-70 would be impacted
by this alternative.
Tree
Farm Road (3.3 MB pdf)
Jonesburg Interchange - An additional alternative
with changes along the north side of the interchange was developed
to avoid
impacts to a property potentially eligible for the National Register
of Historic Places. Additional properties are affected by this
alternative.
Jonesburg
Interchange (1.5 MB pdf)
Warren County
Strack Church Road - The north outer roadway has been realigned
to avoid impacts to properties potentially eligible for the National
Register of Historic Places. Additional properties in this area
would
be affected.
Strack
Church Road (1.3 MB pdf)
Wright City (Exit 199) - The north outer roadway in Alternative
1 has been modified, but impacts no additional properties.
Wright City (Exit 200) - The south outer roadway has been eliminated.
Outer roadway traffic will be rerouted onto Second Street.
Wright
City Exit 200 (1.3 MB pdf)
St. Charles County
Lake St. Louis Blvd. Interchange - The diamond interchange alternative
shown at the September public meetings was eliminated and replaced
with single point urban diamond interchange to better handle
anticipated traffic. Fewer properties would be impacted by this
change.
Lake
St. Louis Blvd. and Route 2 (2.4 MB pdf)
Wentzville Parkway and Route Z Interchanges
- Previous alternatives for Wentzville Parkway have been eliminated
since it has been found that this recently reconstructed interchange
can handle future projected traffic volumes with only the addition
of a second right turn lane on the westbound I-70 exit ramp.
At Route Z, the ramps on the north side of the interchange were
revised to avoid impacts to properties potentially eligible for
the National Register of Historic Places. No new properties would
be affected.
Wentzville
Pkwy and Route Z (1.9
MB pdf)
Public Meeting, September 23 & 25,
2003
The exhibits below display the variety of improvement
alternatives that were considered for interchanges along I-70 in
Montgomery and Warren Counties. The alternatives are shown at a
small scale, and green check marks indicate those that have been
retained for further study. Large scale versions of the retained
alternatives are available farther down this page.
Following are maps of the retained alternatives.
These are preliminary and subject to change based
on further
evaluation.
In many places, two improvement alternatives are being considered.
They are shown in no particular order or preference.
These are very large files that may be difficult to download with
a slow computer connection. We suggest you use the most recent
version of Adobe Acrobat Reader (6.0) to view the files. That program
is available for free download at www.adobe.com. If you have trouble
opening and viewing the files, contact the project office at 1-800-590-0066.
The office is staffed from 9-5 on weekdays, and calls are returned
within 24 hours.
